H2O Adventures
Summer day camp program featuring swimming lessons and water related-activities as well as field trips and games. Club Rec
Full day camp featuring crafts, games, sports, swimming, theme days, and field trips.

Dreams and Futures
Students attend a camp which includes problem-solving, communication skills, tutoring, computer activities and sports. Transportation to the various activities is included. Other activities are facilitated for participants throughout the year. Two sessions are held each summer.

Half-day camps focused on fun and learning using building and engineering concepts.

Voyagers
Summer day camp program featuring arts and crafts, sports, games, special events and excursions.

Youth Sports Camps
Week-long sessions focusing on skill development and fun in baseball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, street hockey, rock climbing, gymnastics, flag football, or multi-sport.

CLASSES
Bicycle Safety Rodeos
A program that educates students regarding rules of the road and value of bicycle licensing in addition to safety and use of helmets. Based on school requests and available staff resources.

Deer Hollow Farm
Deer Hollow Farm is a working homestead and educational center where school classes, community groups and families can observe, explore and participate in a family farm.

Peninsula Youth Theatre Spring Outreach
Month-long program featuring after-school introductory theater instruction, culminating in a performance for family and friends.

Science at Shoreline
Environmental interpretive program cosponsored by the City, Alza Corporation, San Francisco Marine Science Institute and Crittenden Middle School; utilizes middle school students to act as interpreters for third grade school children visiting Shoreline Park in Mountain View.

Golf Lessons

Swim Lessons
The City of Mountain View is an American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program with some additional enhancements to provide the highest quality of swim instruction available. Our classes are taught by qualified and Lifeguard Training-certified instructors. Classes may have volunteers or aides assigned to help increase the attention and practice your child receives. Lessons are tailored to age and skill level.

Tennis Lessons
Tennis lessons for players of all ages and levels are provided through the City of Mountain View Recreation Department. Participants must furnish their own tennis racquets and wear tennis shoes.

A summer reading incentive program for the whole family. The Friends of the Library provide a free book suitable for all ages to every family that reads, reads aloud and records books read in a personalized "Reading Families" booklet.

OUTREACH
D.A.R.E. Program
The D.A.R.E. Program (Drug Abuse Resistandce Education) is an anti-alcohol, anti-drug, gang and violence program designed by Mountain View Officers with a primary focus on drug education. The D.A.R.E. Program is taught by School Resource Officers at the fourth through seventh grade levels at Mountain View schools. Fire Safety School Programs
Firefighter visit schools by request and provide a variety of information, including fire safety, fire prevention, and careers in the fire service. Firefighters also display and explain the equipment and vehicles used by the Fire Department.

Gang Supression Team
Enforcement of gang-related issues through the Police Department's Field Operations Division. SRO's and other officers address gang-related issues, providing prevention, intervention and enforcement services. Service includes verbal counseling with youth and parents as needed, presentation to parents regarding signs of gang activities and other outreach.

PAL (Police Activities League)
Mountain View's Police Activities League (PAL) fosters bonds of mutual trust and understanding between police officers and young people by interacting in non-confrontational settings. PAL's mission is to divert youth away from gangs and crime by providing alternative, supervised activities, including educational, cultural and recreational events.

School Resources Officers
Two full-time Police Officers who make contact with schools (teachers, administrators and students). The individual serves as a counselor, friend and Officer and coordinates youth diversion programs and gang/crisis intervention and citizenship. Also responsible for teaching the D.A.R.E. program.

Some Bunny Cares
A support program for traumatized children which provides new stuffed bunnies adn handmade quilts for comfort. These are also provided to El Camino Hospital for the Emergency Room.

RECREATION
Recreation Swim
Individuals and families may purchase day or season passes to enjoy recreational swimming at Rengstorff and Eagle Pools. Children under 48 inches tall must be accompanied in the pool by an adult.

Skate Park
The Skate Park is a non-supervised facility reserved exclusively or skaters age 12 and under from 9:30—11:30 a.m. All skaters must wear helmets, kneepads and elbow pads. All bikes (including BMX bikes) and scooters are prohibited at this facility.
