Santa Clara County Volunteer and Internship Resources
There are numerous opportunities, both within the County of Santa Clara organization and community organizations to volunteer and make a difference in the communities where you live! Internship opportunities are also available at the Library, County Counsel and other county departments offer special programs for teens including the Sheriff's Youth Cadet Program.

Santa Clara County Youth Task Force
The Santa Clara County Youth Task Force (YTF) is a group of young people empowered to directly advise the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors on issues and policies affecting youth. We promote youth activism and advocacy by working for policies and solutions to problems that would improve the lives of teens.

Mountain View Police Department Explorer Program
MVPD's Explorers are young citizens (ages 14-21) who volunteer to assist the department in providing police services to the community. The program is a great way to explore a future career in law enforcement, or just an enjoyable way to provide community service. It's also a terrific opportunity to learn about leadership, teamwork and responsibility.
Environmental Youth Corps
The unique summer jobs program occurs over a multi-week time frame and includes training, education and supervision in the beautification and maintenance of Shoreline at Mountain View.

Mountain View Library Volunteer Opportunities
The Library is seeking volunteers to assist with sorting and shelving of books, videos, paperback books, cd's, cassettes, books on tape and various other tasks. Minimum age is 13. Hours are very flexible and training is provided.

• Youth Volunteer Leadership and Service Team (YST), a year-long program, offering high school students the resources to participate in and produce youth friendly community service activities,
• State of California CAMINOs Community Service Program, a rehabilitative community service program for expelled or suspended students
• AmeriCorps Ambassador Mentor Program where students are mentored by senior citizens who share their skills and expertise with the younger generation.

City of Mountain View Youth Advisory Committee
The YAC was formed to increase the level of civic engagement of youth and to provide the YAC with an opportunity to work directly with the Council Youth Services Committee. The YAC is comprised of middle school and high school students that represent Mountain View teens in local government and have the opportunity to advise adults concerning teen issues.
