How to Search
Check Library Catalog First look for the item by author, title, or subject in the Mountain View Public Library catalog to see if we have the item.
Link to Link+ If we do not have the item or if all the Mountain View Public Library copies are checked out, click on the Search Link+ button on the screen. Your search will occur automatically in the Link+ catalog.
Requesting an Item
When you locate the item you wish to borrow, click on the blue Request this Item button.
You will be asked, "With which institutition are you affiliated?" Click on the down arrow, select Mountain View, and click on the "Submit above information" button.
If the item is checked in and available in our collection, you will receive the message, "You cannot use Link+ to request items that are available at your institution." Ask the Reference or Information Desk staff for help in finding the item.
If the item is not owned by the Mountain View Public Library, or if all copies at the Mountain View Public Library are checked out, you will be asked to enter your name and Library card number.
Click on the "Submit above information" button after entering the information.
Reminder There is no fee to request a Link+ item, but be aware that the fines for overdue, lost or damaged books are very high.
Link+ libraries charge $1.00 per day per item for overdue items, and a $115.00 per item replacement charge for lost or damaged items.
