An Excessive Heat Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for Friday through Sunday across the Bay Area and California.

Please take care of yourselves and your families by following these precautions during hot weather:

  • Drink more water than usual.

  • Wear a hat and light-colored clothing when you go out.

  • Help kids and the elderly stay cool.

  • Help pets find a cool spot and provide extra water.

  • During the hottest hours of the day, avoid strenuous activities and stay in air-conditioned buildings.

  • Remember to never leave pets or kids in a parked car!

Here’s more helpful information about hot weather precautions from the Santa Clara County Public Health Department:

The City of Mountain View Public Library at 585 Franklin Street will be open Saturday (10am to 6pm) and Sunday (1pm to 5pm) for those looking for a place to beat the heat while enjoying a good book.

Call 9-1-1 if you are experiencing a medical emergency. Stay cool and stay safe!
