The City of Mountain View invites Mountain View residents and people who work in Mountain View to apply to be a member of the Environmental Sustainability Task Force.
The volunteer Task Force will be appointed by the Mayor to develop and recommend achievable short- and long-term communitywide actions to reduce Green House Gas emissions and create a sustainable community. The Task Force is part of the City's new Environmental Sustainability Program, which was approved by the City Council in September.
Its work is estimated to take about six months from the time of the first meeting, most likely in January 2008. The meeting schedule and frequency will be at the discretion of the Task Force, and members will need to attend regularly.
The application is available at www.mountainview.gov and the deadline to apply is 12:00 noon on December 10, 2007. The City Council Appointments Review Committee (CARC) will interview applicants in December or January and make appointment recommendations to the Mayor.
