You can renew your own library materials online or by phone by calling our 24 Hour Automated Renewal Service: 650-940-1015.
All materials except games and Friends of the Library items can be renewed twice if they are not reserved. Games (if no holds) and Friends of the Library items can be renewed once.
If your library materials are overdue at the time of renewal, a fine will be added to your record for each overdue item.
Online renewals made after midnight on the due date will be treated as overdue at the time of renewal and a fine will be added to your record for each overdue item.
Renewal is not automatic with LINK+ items. You may attempt to renew LINK+ items once no earlier than 2 days before the due date for an additional 21 more days. The system will check with the home library first before authorizing the renewal. If the owning library denies the renewal you have to return the item by the original due date.
What does it mean if I get the message when checking my record online, "There is a problem with your record?"
- You have unpaid fines
- You already have 15 items on hold
- Your library card has expired (your library card automatically expires every three years and must be renewed)
