Teen Summer Volunteer Opportunities

The Recreation Division is proud to present three enhanced teen summer volunteer opportunities serving our Deer Hollow Farm, Aquatics, and Summer Camp programs. All teen summer volunteer opportunities are free of cost to participants. During the week of June 4th, all teen summer volunteers will be required to attend professional development training. There may be additional training opportunities within each specific program.  Age limits vary depending on program. See below for descriptions on each program and how you can apply.

Deer Hollow Farm Interns: Deer Hollow Farm Interns will assist staff during Deer Hollow Farm Wilderness Camps with a variety of activities. Activities include teaching campers about the farm and garden, leading songs and games, exploring the wilderness preserve, and  improving leadership skills all while having a fun summer with youth!  To apply, please complete the following application.

Junior Lifeguards: Junior Lifeguards will assist Aquatics staff in swim lessons by making the pool a safe, fun, and friendly atmosphere. Lessons occur mornings and afternoons Monday through Thursday with the option to “live train” with lifeguards on Friday’s. Junior Lifeguards will also have the opportunity to shadow lifeguards and become certified in CPR and First Aid upon successful completion of volunteer and curriculum hours! Junior Leaders: Junior Leaders is a fun, dynamic, and skill building program that combines advanced training with a service opportunity. After training, Junior Leaders will join City of Mountain View summer camps to engage with youth, lead activities, and shadow staff. To apply, please complete the following application.

Information Night

Join us for Information Night about our teen summer volunteer programs. At the info night, you can speak with coordinators about the different volunteer programs, training requirements, and application process. It is recommended that all returning and interested volunteers attend with a parent or guardian as important requirements, expectations, and dates will be shared here. Volunteer opportunities are available for summer day camps, Deer Hollow Farm, and aquatics.
