Mountain View, Calif. — The Mountain View Police Department is debuting a Transparency Dashboard that makes it easier for the public to access information that is frequently requested.
 
The dashboard features a wide range of data including traffic collisions, property crime data, crime and arrest statistics, internal investigations, Racial and Identity Profiling Act data, hate crimes, elder crimes, and more. There is also an interactive map for MVPD’s calls for service, which can be broken down by date and time period.
   
“We are excited to introduce MVPD’s new transparency dashboard, a valuable tool designed to provide our community with clear access to the work we do to keep them safe, said Police Chief Mike Canfield. “This launch represents a major step in maintaining trust and open communication with the community, offering up-to-date information that reinforces our commitment to accountability and ensures our actions remain visible and easily accessible to everyone we serve.” 

The Transparency Dashboard was developed by the Police Department’s Crime Analyst with assistance from the City of Mountain View’s Information Technology Department. The data was provided by a wide range of employees throughout MVPD representing many different divisions. The information displayed on the dashboard will continue to evolve based on the availability of data and types of information requested by the community.

This latest effort reflects MVPD’s ongoing commitment to transparency and building trust with the community.
