The Sister City Affiliation of Mountain View primary goal is to promote international understanding and acceptance. The organization has two Sister Cities, Iwata, Japan and Hasselt, Belgium and facilitates a variety of events and programs throughout the year in support of this goal.

This Nishimoto Scholarship is funded from donations in honor of Yosh Nishimoto, one of the founding members of the Mountain View Sister City Affiliation. The scholarship is open to all graduating students within the Mountain View Los Altos High School District.
