Mixed-Use Development

In April 2023, Glen Yonekura applied for a Planned Community Permit, a Development Review Permit with a State Density Bonus, Heritage Tree Removal Permit, and Tentative Map to replace five existing commercial buildings, two surface parking lots, and one residential building to construct:

  • An 8-story, mixed-use building with 120 condominium units,
  • 13,352 square feet of ground-floor commercial space,
  • Two levels of below-grade parking,
  • Removal of 10 on site Heritage Trees, and
  • A Tentative Map to merge 6 parcels including the portion of Fairmount Avenue that will be vacated by the City and sold to the developer, between Castro Street and Hope Street into one lot.

This application follows a Preliminary SB 330 Application submitted by the applicant on November 6, 2023.  The 1.3-acre project site is located on the southeast corner of Castro Street and El Camino Real in the P-19 (Downtown) Precise Plan.
