Coming Soon
The planned summer opening of the Rengstorff Park Aquatics Center has been delayed due to construction challenges related to its cutting-edge, eco-friendly design. While staff and contractors are working diligently to resolve these issues, the grand opening date has yet to be determined.
In line with the City's sustainability goals, the new aquatics center features the latest in green building design, including an all-electric hot water system powered by a large array of heat pumps and innovative solar panels that generate both photovoltaic and solar thermal energy. This system will efficiently heat nearly 500,000 gallons of pool water, as well as water for showers and other building uses, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions by relying on renewable energy.
The new aquatics center is a major upgrade from the original 1959 facility, offering modern amenities such as:
- A 25-meter x 25-yard lap pool with 3-meter and 1-meter diving boards
- A recreation pool with a water slide and two interactive water features
- Upgraded locker and shower facilities
- A versatile multi-purpose room
This state-of-the-art facility fulfills the City’s vision of creating a community-based aquatics center for residents of all ages. With two pools, the center will provide a broader range of aquatic programs than ever before. Once open, the community can enjoy popular activities such as lap swimming, water exercise, swim lessons, and recreational swimming.
Stay tuned for the grand opening of the Rengstorff Park Aquatics Center, where modern amenities and community spirit will combine to create a premier destination for aquatic fun and fitness.
