Chief Juan Diaz
Chief Juan Diaz has been a fire service professional for over thirty-eight years and joined the Mountain View Fire Department on May 5, 2014. Chief Diaz comes from the City of San Jose where he previously served in the position of Deputy Fire Chief. Juan began his career in 1985 as a Santa Clara City Volunteer Reserve Firefighter, serving with them for over five years. Then in January 1989, he joined the San Jose Fire Department as a professional firefighter. During Chief Diaz’s twenty-five year career with San Jose, he was promoted from Firefighter to Engineer, Inspector, Captain, Battalion Chief and Deputy Fire Chief. Additionally, for over eight years, he served on multiple administrative assignments including Community Wildland-Urban-Interface Captain, Fire Prevention Officer, Line Training Officer and Battalion Chief Department Safety Officer. Chief Diaz has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Service and a Master's Degree in Leadership with an Emphasis in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, he is a certified Chief Officer under the State of California Fire Marshal's Office and holds many specialized training certifications.
Deputy Chief Brian Jones
Joined the department in 2016. Chief Jones comes to us from the City of Stockton where he previously served as a Battalion Chief. Chief Jones began his career as a Firefighter with the Columbia College Fire Department and Tuolumne County Fire Department in 1993. Chief Jones has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Management and a Master's Degree in Leadership with an Emphasis in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, he is a certified Chief Officer and Executive Chief Officer under the State of California Fire Marshal's Office and holds many specialized training certifications.
