The Mountain View Fire Department recently completed an upgrade to its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the creation of the County Command Training Center (CTC). This is a shared use facility which is located inside of the Fire and Police Administration Building.
When in use as the City’s EOC, the function remains as the command center for a major incident that happens within our city limits or region.
When functioning as the CTC this facility allows for fire and police departments within the county to bring personnel to train on state of the art equipment in order to prepare for and be ready to respond to a multitude of incidents.
This collaborative countywide effort is a part of realizing regionalization opportunities within the county, as well as allowing the City to upgrade a facility that will be a vital use should a disaster occur within our region. This project was funded through a grant from the State Homeland Security Grant Program.
