APPLYING FOR A PERMIT
The City of Mountain View welcomes educational, non-profit, and commercial motion picture and still photography filming. The City’s ideal climate and unique location provide a beautiful backdrop for productions of all types and size. Like most cities in California, levels of authorization are required for different types of filming and the City Manager’s Office is here to help you navigate the process.
Please follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Please download and complete all forms found in the application packet. The packet includes the following items that need to be submitted. Please note, packets received less than 10 business days before production may be denied.
- Film and Photo Application
- Organizational Liability Waiver
- Individual Liability Waiver (per person)
Step 2: Once complete, please submit the three forms to the City Manager’s Office at filmpermitting@MountainView.gov
Step 3: Nearly done! All fees are due upon signing of the contract. Fees must be paid in person in the Finance and Administrative Services Department located on the Second floor of City Hall.
