The City is looking for a few good volunteers for its boards, commissions and committees. Apply to the advisory bodies below to make a difference, give back to your community, and have your voice heard.

- Parks and Recreation Commission
- Performing Arts Committee
- Public Safety Advisory Board
- Senior Advisory Committee
- Visual Arts Committee
Advisory bodies are volunteer positions and serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, via email, mail or in the City Clerk’s Office, 500 Castro St.

Board, Commission and Committee members are volunteer positions that consider a wide range of matters, including zoning and land use, library policy, parks and recreation programs, social and cultural issues, and public art and aesthetics. All meetings are open to the public.
Members are appointed by the City Council for four-year terms, except for the Downtown Committee, which serves three-year terms. Review the Council Advisory Bodies Roster to learn who currently serves the City in this capacity and the Council Advisory Bodies Handbook to learn more about the functions of the committees as well as the roles and responsibilities of committee members.
Applications for appointment to boards, commissions or committees are available at the City Clerk's Office or by downloading the application form from the respective body's page.
