Stories of Racism, Anti-Discrimination, and Movement Towards Inclusion

On July 26, 2022, the Human Relations Commission (HRC) held a community dialogue event that explored the history of racism in housing and shared community members’ stories of exclusion and inclusion in Mountain View housing. This event was held in collaboration with Michael B. Kahan, Co-Director of the Program on Urban Studies and Senior Lecturer at Stanford University.

The purpose of the event was to:

  • Understand how policies and practices that segregated America affected the Mountain View community.
  • Learn, reflect, and discuss how to move toward a more inclusive future by focusing on the history of housing in Mountain View.
