Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) is a Joint Powers Authority that provides our City with the care of injured, lost and abandoned companion animals, animal cruelty investigations, enforcement of animal laws, education and outreach programs, volunteer programs and much more.
Mountain View is also home to Shoreline, an estuary environment and varied ecosystems for wildlife and a large number of species of birds including the resident Species of Special Concern, the Burrowing Owl. Because both dogs and cats have a natural inclination to hunt, and because they also have the ability to harm and injure another species, we ask that you please discourage the feeding of wildlife and other animals at Shoreline. Additionally, if you see domesticated animals being abandoned in the park, please call us at 650-903-6344. You can learn more about Shoreline at Mountain View.
In-emergency inquiries, you can contact SVACA staff at staff@svaca.com or call 408-764-0344 and leave a message at the end of the recording. They will respond to you as soon as possible. If someone has been injured and needs medical attention or is in danger, please call 9-1-1. If it is an urgent after hours request, please call the Mountain View Police Department at 650-903-6344.
