Solid Waste Service Agreements
The City adopted a Zero Waste Plan as the first step to preparing new solid waste services agreements. Agreement terms for collection (Recology), processing (SMaRT Station) and landfill (Waste Management) services ran through the end of 2021. Council chose to negotiate with all existing providers. On January 28, 2020, Council approved a scope of services for the Recology agreement and negotiating parameters for the development of new Memorandum of Understanding for the SMaRT Station. On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the City Council approved an agreement with Recology to provide solid waste, recycling and organics collection services for a new 10-year term beginning July 1, 2021. Click to view the Collection Services Agreement.
